Sections: Rated Sections Only:  K-3 Under 300; K-3 Championship; K-5 Under 500;

                                            K-5 Championship; K-8  Championship; K-12 Open
Round Times: 9:30, 11:00, 12:30, 2:00, 3:30      Time Control: Game 30/d5

Mandatory Players meeting:  9:15 a.m.

Memberships, Fees, And Deadlines

·        5 round Swiss, US Chess rated.  A current US Chess membership is required for all sections:  https://new.uschess.org/become-member .

·        Entry Fee: $25 per individual (because this is an individual and team event, the registration fee is the same for all individuals)

·        Online registration: https://www.madisonchess.com

·        Deadline: Online registration closes Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 8:00 pm. 

·        No Onsite Registration.  No refunds after you have been paired for the 1^st round.

Awards

This is an individual event, with secondary team prizes; team score is the total of the four highest individual scores from a school. We will try to avoid same-team pairings during the first two rounds; after that the pairings will be based on individual standings only.

Individual Awards: Trophies for top 10 individuals in K-3 Under 300, K-3 Championship, K-5 Under 500, K-5 Championship, K-8 Championship. Top 5 individuals in K-12 Open.  Medals for all individuals who tie for lowest  trophy.

Team Awards: Trophies for top 5 teams in K-3 Under 300, K-3 Championship, K-5 Under 500, and K-5 Championship sections. Top 2 teams in K-8 Championship and K-12 Open sections.
